Abstract
The aim of the paper is to discuss whether the disappearance of the term "fraternity" from the economic discussion matters or not. To this purpose, I will take into consideration terms sometimes employed in economics such as "mutual advantage", "sympathy", "fellow-feeling", "social justice" and so on that are candidate synonyms of "fraternity" and I will focus on their meanings in order to establish if they can be considered as such.
